LumenRadio

LumenRadio is showing off their CRMX technology for wireless DMX in several of their products.  Their newest product is the MoonLite which is both a wireless DMX transmitter and receiver with Bluetooth Technology, a built-in rechargeable battery, and dual XLR connectors.  The device is able to be controlled through the CRMX toolbox app.  It enables tablet and phone-based lighting control softwares to connect directly.  Ideal application include: clubs, small stage events, corporate events, and theatres with temporary events that need wireless DMX connectivity.  Like all other LumenRadio products, the MoonLite comes with the CRMX technology, but has updated disturbance detection so created the most stable connection in such a small product.

Kino Flo

The new FreeStyle 4 LED DMX fixture and controller was the newest offering from Kino Flo at NAB this year.  It is an addition to their FreeStyle T44 fixture line.  The LED tubes used display Kino Flo’s True Match white light and RGBWW color management system.

As the name suggests, there are 4 True Match tubes attached in the fixture housing. They are RDM capable.  The controller for the fixture has four menu options; one white, two color and FX.  With the white menu, the color temperature range is from 2700K to 6500K with dimming, Kelvin and Green/Magenta control channels.  In the first color menu, the color temp range is from 2500K to 9900K, with three additional channels; Gel, Hue Angle and Saturation.  The Gel channel includes presets such as blue and green screen and over 100 well-known lighting gels colors.  The second color menu provides individual RGB control.  The FX menu has custom presets like Candle, Fire, TV, Police, Lightning, Paparazzi, Pulse and Scroll.  The controller comes with standard DMX, wireless DMX (Lumen Radio), universal input of 100-240VAC and 24VDC.  This is a very versatile fixture and is made to Kino Flo’s exacting standards.

RC4 Wireless

RC4 Wireless is about “living life untethered”.  Their line of wireless dimmers that use batteries for power and wireless DMX for control, allows designers to put lighting in costumes, props, and set pieces. Controlled from your DMX console, seamlessly integrated into your scenes and cues, RC4 devices are as responsive and robust as any other fixture in your show, and transparent to the lighting designer.

Their RC5 DMXio Extended Area Super Secure products provide the largest coverage area with the highest level of secure data encryption in the world.  The system broadcasts with up to 1W of RF power, RC5 systems have covered entire theme parks.

256-bit AES encryption ensures an uncrackable and unhackable data stream.  Even the RC4MagicPC link for remote device configuration is encrypted.

RC4 also was showing the all-new SX series of products. Smoother dimming, improved AC wave synthesization and color matching improve the award-winning line of products.

Additionally, RC4 launched its new RC4 Commander software that allows simple straightforward configuration of the extensive features built into RC4 devices and was being demonstrated in their booth.

Lumen Radio

From concert arenas to movie sets, from ballrooms to bridges. Lumen Radio’s award-winning CRMX™ products for professional lighting offers a solution for every scenario.  There are products that are flexible that can either transmit or receive data and others that are dedicated.  There is even a USB version to transmit DMX.

OEM versions are available for manufacturers to add to their products to make their fixtures wirelessly controllable.

An interesting development is Lumen Radio’s new IoT control platform. Named “Mira”,  this IoT platform that provides a wireless mesh network with unprecedented scalability and reliability to an unlimited number of nodes. The Mira network is a self-healing multi-hop network system that operates on the worldwide license-free 2.4GHz ISM band.

It is designed for architecture and connected store applications and with their patented Future-Proof Coexistence Connectivity technologies, they can enable connectivity that can safely co-exist with other wireless technologies, not being interfered or causing interference.

Mira can be deployed in heavily congested radio environments, can scale up to several thousands of nodes and LumenRadio’s commissioning feature allows an easy setup for both networks and user applications.

Rat Pac Dimmers

RatPac was excited about their RATPAC 12 X 200W DIMMER. This is specifically made for 120V LED tubes and low wattage applications. The 12 x 200 Watt dims smoothly from 0 – 100%, has a built-in wireless transceiver, and USB out for convenient phone charging.

While the line was originally developed for film/video applications we are starting to see it used in other applications because of its durability and ease of use.

All of their dimmers are also wireless. You can control wirelessly using their Cintenna Wireless receivers and their AKS DMX Wireless system. This will allow control of your lighting system for up to 1 universe per set, from your iPhone or Tablet.
