MAXI MIX®

The patent-pending MIX technology features a proprietary blend of six LEDs: Red + Lime + Green + Blue + Amber + White. This enables the MAXI MIX fixture to generate a wide gamut of colors and create accurate Rosco gel matches that have been authenticated by Rosco’s color experts.

The largest and the brightest member of the MIX range of LED fixtures, the MAXI MIX is capable of producing up to 7550 Lux (@1M @5500K) – making it the perfect choice for washing your scene in bold colors, luscious tints or flattering, full-spectrum white light. MAXI MIX fixtures can also be tiled together, enabling filmmakers and studio lighting technicians to create large walls of LED light.

On the filter side, Rosco Laboratories are seeing some increase in their sales for the Opti-Sculpt, which is a product they released last year. Opti-sculpt is a 10mil polycarbonate light-shaping material available in sheets only of 24”x 20” and 24”x 40”. It comes in 11 different degree patterns—circular and linear–and is heat-resistant and flame retardant.

Lee Filters

With a lifespan of up to 200 times longer than standard lighting filters, the new Zircon range is designed to last. Lee Filter’s Research and Development team has developed a new way of producing filters that ensure they last longer when used with LED lights. Manufactured using a 180-micron material, they are more than double the thickness of a normal lighting filter.

There are 12 filters in the Zircon range; the five Minus Green filters remove the green casts often associated with LED lighting when using a digital camera. The four Warm Amber filters correct a range of different color temperature white LED so that they appear like Tungsten, while the three Diffusion filters offer different strengths of diffusion specifically designed for LEDs. Available in 4ft x 10ft rolls, 24in x 24in sheets and 12in x 12in Lighting Packs.

The new Lee Swatch app puts the complete range of Lee lighting filters on one screen and features a color picker so you can build palettes anytime. The app also features many of the tools on Lee Filter’s website, redesigned for use on a smartphone, including: Find a Dealer, Diffusion Finder, Gel Comparator, and Colour Temperature Calculator.

The Official Lee Filters Diffusion Comparator enables lighting designers to directly compare different diffusions lighting a model. The comparator is built from video clips of a real-world lighting setup using a single M8 source and each and every diffusion in the Lee range.
